Bosulla Mosaic in Landscape

Perched above the Helford River near Falmouth, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Bosulla is defined by its connection to land and water. The brief was to create a series of mosaic spheres for the garden, using materials that reflect the tones and textures of the surrounding landscape, while also responding to the newly designed interior, where circular forms and sculptural elements are echoed throughout.

Cornish Gems - A Coastal Emblem

The brief was to create a wall mosaic for Cornish Gems, featuring their logo with the letters “C” and “G” intertwined. The design is formed using sea-blue mosaic tiles, arranged in a symmetrical, flowing pattern, and set into a background of small, rounded mother-of-pearl seashell tiles, giving the piece a textured, coastal-inspired finish.

The Fall of Icarus - Longleat

The brief was to create a monumental 40 m² mosaic for Lord Bath at Longleat, depicting Icarus falling from the sky. Crafted from Bisazza tiles in shades of blue and green, with golden tones for his hair, the design is installed at the base of a pool, allowing water to flow across it. The composition captures both movement and drama, creating a dynamic, immersive experience as the mythic figure interacts with the shimmering water above.

The Cornish Delicatessen - Newlyns Daily Feast

The client commissioned a bespoke mosaic floor for their deli entrance in Newlyn, inspired by the historic Unswept Floor motif. The brief was to reinterpret this classical idea while reflecting the deli’s own produce and local identity.

The Old Printhouse - Sprout Health Foods

The brief was to create a mosaic threshold for Sprout Health Food, referencing the building’s former life as The Old Printhouse. The design draws on traditional Victorian entrance mosaics, echoing their association with craftsmanship and understated sophistication. Created using durable Winkelman ceramic tiles, the palette complements the building’s colourway, while the overall composition is designed to feel timeless—integrated as though it has always been part of the space.

Cornish Flora and Fauna in Flow

The brief was to create a sauna floor mosaic for a private Fowey client, inspired by the unswept-floor mosaic at Newlyn Deli. Designed in a continuous figure-eight to be viewed from all angles, it depicts a natural Cornish ecosystem, featuring native fish such as mackerel and sprats, a compass jellyfish, local flowers, and bees in motion. The composition flows organically, celebrating the region’s flora, fauna, and the client’s connection to Cornish wildlife.

Where the Wave Breaks - Lanherne Heights, Mawgan Porth

The brief was to create an exterior wall mosaic for a client’s entrance, inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa. The composition depicts a powerful, cresting wave set against the cliffs of Mawgan Porth in Cornwall, grounding the piece in a location of personal significance. Crafted using a sophisticated blend of Bisazza mosaic tiles in layered blues, turquoises, and greens, the design captures a strong sense of movement and fluidity.

Celestial Garden

The brief was to create a tranquil garden mosaic, designed as a reflective space for rest and contemplation. Made from a variety of colored pebbles, the composition centers on a radiant sun with a shooting star arching overhead, while smaller stars scatter across the background. Positioned near a bench, the mosaic invites quiet reflection, creating a serene, contemplative focal point within the garden.

The Assembly Mosaic Monogram

The brief was to create a feature wall mosaic for The Assembly Bar, highlighting their logo in a sophisticated, eye-catching way. The design centers on the letter “A,” formed from iridescent turquoise Murano glass tiles that catch the light, set against a flowing background of cream Winkelman ceramic tiles. The composition emphasizes the elegance of the monogram while creating a dynamic, contemporary focal point within the restaurant interior.

Remembrance in Harmony

This remembrance mosaic for Didsbury C of E School honours a beloved music teacher. Children contributed drawings reflecting their memories, which were incorporated into the design, and helped assemble the mosaic using tiles that didn’t require cutting. A vibrant musical rainbow arches across the top, celebrating her creativity and lasting impact.
